Hmm,... well at least you changed something, by using HDMBRClear and/or HDWrite.

As what it seems, SF now recognize it as an RDB-disk. Maybe it is the device name causing SF somewhat confused ? Only guesses from my side.

The DosType for an FFS partition should say something like; 0x444f5301 for instance.

Maybe it is something from the manufacturer thats written to the device for the aim to just make it very easy to plug it into any PC with MBR.

Linux also have a lot more tools then MorphOS for such things like this. However, the chance might be that you might end up with an unusable device in the end if unlucky.

The aim for using such device like this, from my point of view, should be to use it in some kind of embedded device, for just having a small, maybe write protected, system on.

Or similar like an USB Memory-stick, for just plug in for copying some data onto and bring with you in your poc
