Even if there aren't that much you would need to do to support LinuxPPC, how many of the closed source programs that are for Linux-x86 has been recompiled for LinuxPPC? The same will happen for OSX, things that are released as closed source for OSX-x86 won't nessessarilly be compiled for OSX-PPC and will lead to that PowerPC Mac users will be a second class user and a movement toward Linux or HaikuOS could give a better support in the long run.
Of course this requiers that Microsoft allows it's OSX to be preinstalled on x86 computers from Dell, IBM, ACER (BenQ), GateWay and so on, or else OSX will not have a future on the x86 market... maybe Mr Gates won't care which way the money will come into his pockets, in the same way as Axel-Johansson don't care if we buy our food from Willys or Hemköp as she will get the money either way.
