Hi,

You can usually use:

ls cd

for listing the contents of the cd, and

ls hd

for listing of the contents of the hd.

# For booting MorphOS from the MorphOS BootCD:

boot cd boot.img

Try the above, and write here how it worked out.

And welcome to pegasos.org ! hello

Did you repartition the harddrive with the "scsi" tool that you have on your CD?

Post subject: RE: your english manual help
webhead,

Lets go from the start.

1: You booted up MorphOS from the cd.

2: You prepared the harddrive with SCSIconfig ?

3: You installed the operating system to the harddrive.

Now, when being at the firmware prompt. If you type:

ls hd

You will list the contents of the harddisk.

It means you will see any partitions you have created on the harddisk. They will be present with some info, like what kind of filesystem they have been created with.

For listing of the content of the first partition on the harddisk just type:

ls hd:0

For listing of the second partition:

ls hd:1

and so on...

For booting MorphOS from the harddisk, you need to load the boot.img from the partition you installed it to.

If on the first partition, you should type:

boot hd:0 boot.img

One important note also. The partition holding the MorphOS operating system need to be marked boot + mount in SCSIconfig. Other partitions, if you create other, should only be marked mount.

Here is also a guide, take the time to read it.

Quickstart Guide

Good luck !

webhead,

Ok, yes, then there is no files on that partition, else you had seen them listed.

What does the output says if you type just:

ls hd

Does it says you have some RDB partitions ?

or does it says you have DOS partitions ?

How many partitions ?

What does other partitions, if any other, contains ?

If you have installed any software too any partition, you can see the files and drawers by listing that partition in the firmware.

You need to load the file boot.img from the partition you installed it too, for booting the MorphOS system you have installed.

The blue number you mention, is the Pegasos manufacturers logo. The letter b as in bPlan.

Post subject: RE: your english manual help
webhead,

To remove the dos partitions.

You can for instance use lisardmans excellent rescue cd to remove this. Download Mupper at www.mupper.org

Burn the the cd, and boot it using:

boot cd mupper

Then when booted you can issue the command:

dd if=/dev/null of=/dev/hda count=20000

The disk label should be overwritten. Reboot and see if the DOS partitions have disappeared.

Then you can boot the MorphOS CD, create new partitions and install MorphOS, and finally boot into your new MorphOS system.

If you want you can also use parted on the mupper cd to create RDB-partitions instead.
