I guess you need a certain number of 1337ness points to actually get the software? The GPL doesn't apply to Amigans?

Oh, ok. So Amigans adhere to the law whereas MorphOS-users do not?

dholm,

Sorry, but dont understand what you are speaking about ?

Also I dont understand what it have with Amigans to do or with the law ?

Its just Mark showing some screenshoots after he have Quake 3 running on his MorphOS system, and as he said, 5 hours after the sources have been released as GPL.

I believe The Free Software Foundation can do a much better job of that than me.

It's a quite common problem in the whole Amiga community, regadles if using MorphOS or AmigaOS4, that people ignore the GPL and make closed source software and don't want to share the code.

As you Gunne wrote, you made things to look like it's the MorphOS people who ignores the GPL.

The answer to number 1 you already know so I assume you are just prancing around because you do not want to face the music.

The OSI list of approved licenses is a good resource to start at.
Considering the GPL has won so much ground I also thought the following links would help:

You can browse packages released under OSI-approved licenses from both SourceForge.net and freshmeat.net.

-----------------------

You are welcome !

Trizt & dholm,

So, finally it might seems we are coming somewhere, if you both could stop talk like talking being somewhere in the foggy land, which noone can possibly understand, or how to explain... ? Smile

So, I made it looks like MorphOS people (or users ?) ignores the GPL ?

If I ask you both like this then ? Please name at least one MorphOS software which then is based upon GPL software, and then because of this in its released version do brake something regarding to GPL. Or if you prefer some other way around, thats no problem for me.

Then, we can check this up, and see what we can find out. Is that a good suggestion to start with that we can agree upon ?

About a possibly MOS Quake3 port, that dholm is talking about, I leave it as something thats just like coming out from thin air, as I do not know about any.

Hello,

Btw, this seems to looks like being completely ridicilious.

First I do post a few pictures in this forum, and also tell that I spoked with bigfoot, and also little later down informs that he told me, when I was speaking with him, he had Quake3 running on his Pegasos with MorphOS.

Then someone is starting talking about 1337, and about amigans... and about the law... and about violations of GPL or whatever... , and someone is posting a newsitem that says an unreleased version of quake3 for MorphOS exists..., then later asks me if I say bigfoots quake3 is a fake... etc etc...

If I say like this !

It might be that bigfoot is working on a possible port of quake3 for MorphOS, or it might not be.

It might be that if he will release a port to MorphOS, he will release it at this place; http://194.255.113.16/~bigfoot/files/ or it might not.

It might be that someone else is working on a possible port of quake3 to MorphOS or it might not be...

We'll see...

If you are curios about what bigfoot is doing or what he not is doing, why dont you ask him yourself ?

Is there a downloadable version of Q3 for MOS somewhere or has he distributed it to some people and denied them access to the source? If not, I don't understand what all this brouhaha is about.

On the other hand, it would be a nice gesture of him to release the source ASAP when he feels it's ready (MOS 1.5 or no MOS 1.5). I wouldn't hold my breath though.

Show me the distributed binaries and I'll be the first and loudest one screaming "Show us the source, your source hogger!".
