Hi,

Im posting this here also. Just tried out the Fedora Core 4 installation on the Pegasos, and it worked very fine.

More and more Linux distribution comes to supporting PowerPC and the Pegasos platform.

Means also that GGS-Data from now also offers Pegasos also with Fedora Core 4 installed. There is a couple of choices by now, so you can choose which one you prefer most.

If you would like to install Fedora 4 on your Pegasos, you find the isos to download here: Link to Fedora 4 iso-images

When it comes to Ubuntu - the Linux for Humans Being, Ubuntu Breezy will be the choice forward.

Sadly Fedora isn't as good as RedHat 7.3 was...

yashin71, keep in mind to not use the root account to much, as the risk is a lot bigger that things goes wrong if something bad would happen.

Said that, what does dmesg say?
Do you have the following files:
Code:

/dev/adsp
/dev/audio
/dev/dsp
/dev/mixer
/dev/sequencer
/dev/sound/adsp
/dev/sound/audio
/dev/sound/dsp
/dev/sound/mixer
/dev/sound/sequencer

Have you installed OSS support for your alsa?
How does your /etc/modules.d/alsa look like?
