Microsofts upcoming gameconsole will use PowerPC based CPU from IBM, which has been specially made for Microsofts needs. The Xbox 360 CPU will have following:

- 64-bit PowerPC core
- three cores
- ...

- clock speeds greater than 3GHz
- 165 million transistors
- 90 nanometer Silicon on Insulator technology
- 21.6 GB/s Front Side Bus
- VMX acceleration
- 128 bit vector unit
- 1 MByte Shared L2 Cache
