Today, Apple's CEO Steve Jobs presented the first Intel-based Macs - the iMac and MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro will have an Intel Core-Duo CPU running from 1.67 GHz to 1.83 GHz. Harddrives will be 80 to 100 GB, 1 GB RAM and 256 MB Graphics mem (ATi Mobility X1600). This is supposed to be up to four times faster than the PowerBook G4.

Price will be 1999 USD to 2499 USD.

The iMac will start at 1299 USD with the same graphics chipset and CPU as MacBook Pro and up to 2 GHz. Screen sizes will be 17" and 20". This is supposed to be up to two times faster than the iMac G5.

Apple don't tell who long the normal battery for MacBook Pro will last at normal usage, so I guess the batterytime is quite a lot shorter than the iBooks ~6h and the PowerBooks ~4h. IMHO the prices are a bit to high... they charge quite a lot for ugly design...
