Genesi has a post at MZ about increasing support for morphOS again. They claim they have sold 1 morphOS ODW 05/06 and claims there is no money in it but will still make some effort.
@gunne
I guess you have sold more than one Pegasos with morphOS attracting the buyer!
I think sales has gone down because of lack of support for morphos. For Linux, solaris and others its allways hard to compete with the x86. But thats my thoughts.
Anyway, maybe you should give them some feedback on the matter from a dealers point of view. |

d'olen,
Yes, Pegasos does sell, but quantities could be raised upwards.
There is also a 'small' group of MorphOS users, hopefully this group will be expanding. |

Gunne: The MorphOS group is small.. No need for 'these'.
I would say that the MorphOS-group won't grow more than just
marginally until there is a real official website and some interest*
from the MorphOS Team. It's their little baby and they hold on
to it hard, maybe abit too hard.
* By interest I mean updates, timelines, leadership, etc. |

I guess the morphOS team isnt shure of what to do with there creation. They see a possible future for earnings and so does not opensource it, nor release updates until they get paid. I think they know of there value for genesi. It looks like a hostage situation!!!
My speculation offcourse. I hope things clear up. They have put to much of there lives into it to simply let it go. |

@ironfist
Why MorphOS user base should grow? And where exactly it could grow when classic user base dried up? |

The user base definately should grow, otherwise it's just pointless
for Genesi to continue support the little effort.. It also needs to expand
into other markets as BBRV has said for so long. The desktop-
market is saturated. MorphOS really has nothing to offer over any other
desktop OS. The PVR-industry has been going for a few years now
and that would probably be the most natural market for MorphOS. It
would need some serious work though.. |
