The Efika MX Developer Edition v2.0 is based on the Freescale i.MX51 ARM Cortex-A8 system-on-a-chip. This is an alpha release and is targeted at developers. The board represents a validated, tested pre-production run of the Efika MX Open Client product. It will be supported by a diverse and active developer community found on PowerDeveloper.org.
The initial offering price of the Efika MX Developer Edition v2.0 will be $199.00 (US).

Genesi is pleased to announce that Cloud City has been opened for selected customers. Cloud City will feature the newest version of the Open Client based on the i.MX515 System-on-a-Chip (SoC) from Freescale. Included in the Cloud City Pilot, Genesi is also testing client devices based on other ARM™ offerings from Freescale, Toshiba, Texas Instruments and Marvell. All devices involved in the Pilot project are supported by the Aura Firmware.
Cloud City is a computing service from Genesi that enables low-cost, low-power consumption, Internet-connected devices to access Office and Productivity software online. Cloud City Integrates industry-standard Google Apps™ Premier Edition Mail, Calendaring, Contacts, Document sharing and other collaboration tools with Citrix Virtualization and Application Delivery technology providing standard Microsoft Office. Home offices or small business will be able to benefit from the reduced costs of a rental-based Cloud City Service Plan. The integrated hardware is bundled with the service offering.
The new Cloud City offering will launch to the general market through the Genesi Store beginning in Q3. A netbook based on the i.MX515 and supported by Cloud City will also be available.

|  |  |  | 10th September 2007: Genesi is pleased to announce that it has discontinued the sale of the $99 EFIKA 5200B in anticipation of the new EFIKA based on the Freescale MPC5121e which includes the PowerVR MBX 2D/3D graphics engine and audio processing DSP.
The EFIKA 5200B and Open Client models can still be ordered through your local reseller, such as Directron in the USA.
