I tried it and it really worked without problems (gigabit ethernet). The strange thing was I didn't need to specify a MAC-adress, it got an adress anyway.
I also made a benchmark, connected two Pegasos II G4 and copied a file over the network. The speed was about 12-13 MB/s. I guess the cpu was the limit, the cpu was working at 100%.
