| | | | In Bill's and Raquel's latest blog they write about a new partner for high volume ODW production. They will build the ODW for less than 1000 USD and a bunch of the Genesi Home Theaters, featuring S-ATA, DVB-card etc.
For more details about the Genesi Home Theater, read this blog.

The list of devices seems quite okey, one of the things I don't feel that thrilled about is the Hitachi hardddrive, those are usually really noicy and can beep just for the fun of doing that without there are anything wrong with the harddrive and they tend to die quite fast compared to other harddrives that I have used. I do have many friends who have had the unluck of Hitachi that the harddrive dies after a short lifespan.
Me and my friends tend to buy Seagates, those are a lot more silent and has this far had a lot longer lifespan, even if my Fujutsi harddrive is one of my favorites, but those you don't get anymore.

I agree. Harddrives was the only thing IBM never were good at. But since all ODWs
carry Seagate 7200 drives I suppose this one should to. Seagate make really good
SATA drives aswell. Let's hope this was just a demo machine.
However, I'm totally sold out to Western.
