| | | | A 150-employee startup company have announced they will make their own PowerPC chips. They have licenced the PowerPC technology from IBM. Their first processor will be a dual-core 2GHz with a 13 Watt typical power consumption. The sampling will begin Q3 2006 and single-core CPUs early 2007. Quad-core CPUs late 2007 and eight-core in 2008.

Seems a bit backward to go from Dual-Core to Single-Core, rahter would see a Quadra-Core CPU earlier, but but...
