Yellow Dog Linux for Playstation 3

Terra Soft Solutions have revealed that they will release Yellow Dog Linux 5.0 for Playstation 3 in mid-November. It will be a free download for everyone who wants to use Linux on their Playstation 3.

The PowerPC version of Yellow Dog Linux 5.0 will be released by the end of the year.

After Terra Soft's deal with Sony we can only hope this is true. Running a cheap Cell-machine is probably every Power developer's dream..

Cool, just noticed that Terra Soft doesn't carry ODW's anymore they direct customers to Genesi's home page... any ideas why ?

Maybe true,

I can imagine that having Linux on a PS3 would make a good platform for cluster calculations etc (if the CELL is as good as the tell ya ofcourse) =)
I hope they have some sort of USB-connections to the console otherwise it's pretty useless for common ppl if you need to buy extra stuff for peripals to connect to it.
