The /dev/adsp, /dev/audio, /dev/dsp, /dev/mixer and /dev/sequencer are usualy symlinks to the "files" in /dev/sound with the same name.
The problem could be related to udev, as I haven't used RedHat since 7.3, I don't know how well the transfear from devfs to udev went in Fedora, you could see if there are any updates and do those and see if the problem solves by itseöf. |

Can you try to create the following file and see if that solves the problem?
Code: |
kozz@peggy:~$ cat .asoundrc
pcm.!default {
type plug
slave.pcm hw
}

yashin71,
All Linux distributions that supports the Pegasos works to use with the Pegasos.
I have myself not any Pegasos with Fedora running at this particular moment, why I cant answer your question right up and down about this problem you got with sound in Fedora.
Here is the link with info about Fedora 4 on the Pegasos:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SupportedPowerPC
There is also a wiki there where you can search for Helpcontents on different issues, and they also have a supportforum. It should be most likely that you will get a straight answer from Fedora if you ask the question in their forum.
Here we do use Debian Linux and Ubuntu Linux on Pegasos machines, which both works good and without any problem.
And there is also users here as I think you see that mainly runs Gentoo on their Pegasos.
Here is link to the Debian Stable Net-installer CD: Link
Here is link to the Ubuntu 5.10 Installer CD: Link

You mean to put a picture in you post in the forum ?
Its done by clicking the img-button when you are writing a message. This button is not present when you use 'Quick reply'. If you do for instance click 'Quote' for the message you want to answer on, you will get another page with more available buttons to use.
Edit,
See that dholm already answered about pictures, so well, as more answer thats better. |

Yes, I found the following one particulary helpful. Before I didn't know how to install Linux on my Pegasos but after reading this all the pieces came together.
