About PosixLib:
The C-library of the vbcc compiler only includes those functions required by the ANSI/ISO-C standard and nothing more. But sometimes, especially when porting projects from the Unix world, you need more than that.
This linker library contains the most important POSIX functions and some other useful UNIX functions, which are not in the standard C-library.
