|  |  |  | As of yesterday - July 1st - it is illegal to download any copyrighted material in Sweden. This law was set to keep up to EU directives. Sweden was the last EU nation to ban downloading for personal use. Before only making files available to others, was illegal.

|  |  |  | Gentoo PPC Team had an IRC meeting last night discussing various topics. The first was to elect new members of the team. As Strategic Leader our very own David Holm was elected. Congratulations!
Luca Barbato will lead the PPC group and Tom Gall the PPC64 group.
Decisions concerning the Pegasos are as follows; the Pegasos sources will be removed once the patchset is included within the vanilla kernel.

|  |  |  | At a hotel room at E3 in Los Angeles, IBM presented the first Cell blade server prototype for a few clients. The boards shown were approximately 23x43 in size carrying two Cell processors, two 512 MB XDR RAM modules and two South Bridge LSIs. The processors were running at 2.4-2.8 GHz. The engineer said: We are driving the Cell processors at higher rates in the laboratory. If operated at 3 GHz, Cell's theoretical performance reaches about 200 GFLOPS, which works out to about 400 GFLOPS per board.

This documentary took almost four years to make, with lots of travelling, reading and over 200 interviews. It is over five hours long and ships on three DVDs. The documentary is splitted into eight episodes.
