| | | | Test with Vivaldi Midi Interface !
We have made a test with the Vivaldi Midi interface with the AmigaOne and AmigaOS 4, and it works very fine to use this device in AmigaOS 4 with camd.library together with a Soundblaster soundcard. Suggested software to use, HD-Rec. Info here
This means it is very fine to use this device also with AmigaOS 4 if you have Soundblaster Live or Audigy Soundcard.
Vivaldi is delivered with a driver for MorphOS and BarsnPipes for using with the onboard soundchip in the Pegasos Computer. Info about Barnpipes here
Vivaldi can also be used with Linux or Windows.

| | | | The Register reports that Freescaled has licensed the PowerVR MBX graphics core from Imagination Technologies.
Quoted from the article:
"The deal was struck through ARM, which entered into a sub-licensing agreement with Imagination in April 2002. It's been a useful arrangement for Imagination, since ARM carries far more clout than the smaller company does and is able to promote PowerVR technology alongside its own CPU cores."

| | | | Gundeep Hora of Cooltechzone wrote an article about desktop harddrive advancement shown at CES 2005. 2005 appears to be a slow year for harddrives - both internal and external.
In late 2004 Maxtor had the time to introduce drives with 16 MB cache and that will - most likely - be copied by other manufactors. No speed improvements from 7200 RPM are to be expected. It appears the manufactors are waiting for S-ATA II - but that depends on the motherboard-makers.
Western Digital's 10000 RPM S-ATA Raptor drives will probably remain popular among enthusiasts and servers throughout 2005.
