Review of LY-L32 - The "USB CUP WARMER"

Kristian a.k.a Ironfist bringing gifts. He surprised me and David
Holm with a Christmas gift. One for me and one for David. The gift
was an "USB CUP WARMER" model LY-L32. The specifications say:

* 5V DC, 500mA
* USB Port Clear cable: 1.5M
* Dimensions: 115x115x25mm, Heating zone diameter: 75mm
* Heating area temperature: about 70 degrees Celsius

This "USB CUP WARMER" can also be used as a charger for
some of Nokia's mobile phones, and the models are: Nokia 3310,
8210, 8250.

Birmingham, Dec. 12 2004 - AHT Europe Ltd. are pleased to announce the immediate availability of their first Amiga products, MIDI interfaces for the Commodore Amiga as well as the Pegasos and standard PCs.

The MIDI interface “Vivaldi” supports standard MIDI transfer through the game port (MPU401), either on-board or on a PCI card. It is suitable for all operating systems that support standard MIDI transfer over the game port and has been successfully tested with standard MIDI software under MorphOS/Pegasos, Linux and Windows. The “Vivaldi” MIDI interface provides the following connectors: 1 x MIDI IN, 1 x MIDI THRU, 3 x MIDI OUT (synchronised).

100 USD Computer Announced

In responce to Steve Ballmer's challenge to the computer industry SolarPC announced its 100 USD computer - the SolarLite. Steve Ballmer wanted a 100 USD computer to reduce software piracy.

This computer however runs a flavour of Linux called Damn Small Linux and runs completely solid-state off a Compact Flash card.

The machine consumes approximately 10 Watts and runs on 12V DC. It can be connected to a solar panel, your car or a bicycle-based generator. The CPU is of course a low-powered VIA x86.

24th Top 500 Supercomputer list released

The list of the Top 500 Supercomputers has been released. As already reported IBM's Blue Gene/L kicked Japanese Earth Simulator from the throne. Its max Tflops was twice as much as the Japanese - 70.72.

This Blue Gene/L prototype consists of 32768 PPC 440 CPUs at 700 MHz.

C-One boards for sale at Amiga-meeting

A limited quantity of C-One boards will be available to betatesters who will attend the Amiga-meeting in Bad Bramstedt, Germany this weekend. The boards have now reached a state where all updates can be made without special equipment, and as soon as we're back from the meeting on sunday night (october 31st), the betatester registering page will go online.

Marvell releasing new system controller cip.

Marvell, who is the manufacturer of the northbridge chip used in the Pegasos II, introduces Industry-leading Discovery" LT System Controllers For High Volume Applications.
